4 easy ways to make sure your website is successful

Today, making sure you have a strong online presence is a must – and by strong, I mean the template that you selected on Squarespace just won’t not cut it. You website has to be strategically designed, making sure that when your potential client lands on your home page, they don’t just click off in the next few seconds.

There are many ways to do this, I’ll discuss the 4 easiest ways in this blog post so make sure you bookmark this to keep coming back too.

1.     Make sure your visitors know how you can help them straight away

Having your mission statement or tagline on your home page is a great way to make sure customers keep scrolling on your website. If they have to do the work to figure out how you  can help them, then they usually won’t bother and they will leave your website.

Tip #1: Your logo shouldn’t be BIG on the home page. Your customers know that they’re on your website, the first thing they should see is a sentence describing how you can help them.

Tip #2: Avoid industry specific jargon – make it as clear as possible for your potential clients to understand what you do and how you can help them.

 2.     The design should be minimal and user-friendly

First impressions count. If your website is cluttered or hard to navigate, then your visitors will leave before learning what you offer. When in doubt, go for a clean, minimal design with easy-to-find menus and CTAs (call to actions).

Tip #1: Avoid overloading pages with content and streamline your copy for your website. People don’t have time to read so much.

Tip #2: Ensure important pages, such as ‘Services’, ‘About Us’, and ‘Contact’ are easily accessible.

3.     It needs to work on mobile

I cannot stress this enough – make sure your website is mobile friendly!!! The number of visitors coming to your website from their phone is crazy. Your website should be fully responsive, meaning it adjusts seamlessly to different screen sizes and resolutions, if you can’t do this yourself, then hire someone to help you. It is essential.

4.     Strong CTAs

A CTA (Call to action) should be very strong on your website. Every page should have a clear goal. These goals could be to inform, persuade, or convert. CTAs guide visitors towards taking the next step, whether that’s booking a consultation, signing up for a newsletter, or requesting a quote. Make sure your CTAs are clear, compelling, and prominently placed. Use action-oriented language like "Get Started," "Contact Us," or "Book a call" to encourage engagement.

Making sure your website is optimised is crucial for success of your service-based business. If you make these 4 changes, you will already have a great foundation for a successful website.
